It’s a remix album that mixes metal and techno/dance elements. He’s one of the FEW mainstream hard rock artists who can do a good remix album, in my opinion.

EDIT: especially the ‘Living Dead Girl’ remix from the album.

I feel…depressed. Lifeless. Empty?
Soo..this is definetely weird for me. I never thought I’d be the one making a post like this but especially lately, I’ve been feeling depressed. It all started last year..I went from the small, comfortable middle school where I knew everybody and I got good grades. I graduated number 3 and I just loved my friends. Then, when I entered highschool, I felt like I was thrown into the lion’s den. I hardly ever saw the people that were my actual good friends. I’ve had many acquaintances in the past and they always come and go but I always had a select few who stuck. I also have encountered people who are just reckless and have the perfect "I don’t give a f*ck" attitude. The older guys were just losers who were bored and were very openly critical, thinking their the hottest things ever when they’re just plain ugly. I just felt so out of place and so distant from my old friends. I soon began to became depressed where throughout the whole entire day, I would feel extremely tired and just unable to communicate with people. Last year, I become really self-conscious and I felt so unwanted by everyone/anyone. I pretty much felt like a piece of crap and everything just went downhill. I was falling and I couldn’t catch myself. It was a feeling I’ve never experienced before and my life was dying, piece by piece right before my eyes. I was only half of what I use to be and now this year, the feelings have entered once again, even stronger than before. I can honestly say I don’t give a sh*t about ANYTHING anymore. Nothing..my grades are totally slipping and I don’t care. I know on the inside I’m telling myself, "wth is wrong with you? get off your ass and do some work." I hardly have done my homework at all this year so far. I know deep down I do care and I WANT to care soo bad but my initial reaction to school is just "F*ck this stupid sh*t." I don’t want to correct my mistakes because I don’t want to visit the realization. The realization of that I am completely failing at life and doing everything I told myself I WOULDN’T be doing plus more. The only thing I’m not doing wrong is getting involved in drugs which I’m too emotionless and dead to even think about doing. I feel completely lifeless and tired. Recently, I’ve felt especially empty..I’m never depressed. Just empty…Today was not even joking, this was my worst day in a really long time.Let’s just say I felt like skipping(first time ever here people, just to let you know. I went with my instinct) and the g*d damn lady snitched me to my school. My school found out and when I came back..blehhh. It was just horrible, never been so ashamed in my whole life. Pretty much, I can’t deal with getting yelled or even scolded at. I feel embrassed enough when the teacher tells me to stop talking in the middle of class but then everyone found out I skipped the first two periods? I just couldn’t handle it so what I did for lunch was just go into the bathroom and sulk. I don’t cry anymore..I’m done with crying and tears. I’ve done that too much last year. What I’m pretty much telling you is that I’m so done with these emotions that I really don’t have them anymore and I don’t care about anything. Friends, family, school…I really just want to stay in my room all day to the leisure of my own comfy bed. I wanna sleep my high school years away. My parents also don’t help at all..They just see me as the bratty teen and doesn’t motivate me at all. They don’t really step in on anything and for all you know, I could be doing drugs and getting stoned out my mind everyday. Only then would they probably do something. Just trust me on this..I love them and they’re good people but..they’re not exactly the parents that push their kids to the best of what they can be. They just expect their kids to be hard workers and have drive. I don’t have that..I never really had but this year and last year, it all dried up and disappeared. Pretty much I’m just asking…am I depressed? Is there anyway I can talk to a therapist or someone along those lines..privately and secretly though? The last thing I need is for everyone to know..

If you go to see your local doctor you can talk with them about your feelings. Doctors have to keep anything you say confidential. I think you will feel a lot better with yourself if you just talk to someone about this. If they are unable to help then you can ask them to refer you to a specialist. Good luck :)

Is a 6'4" soft surfboard right for me?
I’m a beginner with a few lessons under my belt :P … I saw this 6′4" soft surfboard today which somehow i felt very attracted to (for lack of better words). It’s confusing as the size seems small for beginner but being a softboard, seems right. I’m 50kg, 160cm. I know people keep saying I should ask the local shop assistant but the shop assistant wasn’t very helpful today and like I said somehow I felt this connection to the board – it’s like love/lust at first sight :) So i need strong reasons to encourage/discourage me to go ahed. Thanks!

Im not sure what size of foamie you learned on but chances are it would have been over 7ft, going down at this stage would be a major problem, you have to think about paddling and being able to catch waves…i really think that you will struggle on a 6′4 to catch your own waves…the instructor will not always be there and you will have to make all the actions to catch you own waves, on a 6′4 it will be too much trouble and your surfing will be effected

Go with a foamie that is 7ft and over and you will notice your surfing improve out of nowwhere
THE REAL DEAL SEX APPEAL | Feb 03, 2010

Welcome to surfing. What you need a surfboard that floats you well enough to paddle and catch a wave at your PRESENT SKILL LEVEL at YOUR PRESENT SIZE. I am really reluctant to recommend any particular board over the internet. I will say one thing. Just because you learned on a Foamie ( soft top board) doesn’t mean that you have to keep riding one. In fact, I would really discourage it. Why not buy an real board (used is okay) that suits your size, skill level and local waves. Foamies are great for kids to learn on, but after that, they really are no much more than toys.

Don’t waste your time on line, we don’t know anywhere nearly enough about you, or where you surf, how well you surf and we don’t have an opportunity to discuss these things with you. We aren’t your surfing buddies, we don’t necessarily surf where you or know anybody who does. Go to a good local surf shop (or a shop where ever you usually surf) and discuss your options with the folks in the shop. They can give you far better advice than anybody out here in ‘cyberspace’. And, just because you didn’t get a whole lot of assistance in one shop, don’t stop looking in other surf shops. As much as I always praise surf shops, like any other business, there are good ones and bad ones.

Please avoid popouts:
http://www.mckevlins.com/nopopstory.htm
Soft top boards are the "ultimate" popouts. But, like I said, they are great for kids to learn on.

I don’t know how old you are, but you also have to remember, teenagers grow, surfboards don’t. You can easily grow bigger and ride a smaller board, if your skill level keeps pace with your growth. If not, you have to think about how long do you really want to get out of that board.

Be careful about taking on-line advice from kids who may know less about surfing than you do, and the internet phonies.

Anybody who recommends a specific size or design of a surfboard to a stranger on line is foolish. Anybody who would take that advice is MORE foolish.

Good luck with your selection. I have been surfing since 1966, and it has been a lifetime of fun for me
John F | Feb 03, 2010

I’m going to say it once again listen to john F that man speaks the truth.
Brian | Feb 03, 2010

The bottom line is you need a longboard to learn correctly and a 6′4 is not a longboard.

Isn't there something we can do to bring back jobs to the USA?
The USA became a prosperous nation 100 years ago because we were the king of globalization.

What is happening today? Jobs leaving the USA, entire factories are shutting down and moving to foreign countries.

100 years ago, entire factories were moving to the USA. That’s what caused that huge wave of immigration, because the factory owners often brought all their workers with them, paying their way in steerage on a steamer ship.

Why?

Tariffs. Tariffs on imports were the main source of revenues for the federal government. Income tax was unconstitutional until 1913, when Congress passed the Sixteenth Amendment. So tariffs were paying for most of the federal budget before then.

Tariffs raised the prices of imported goods, and it was harder for foreign factories to compete. So they moved their factories here, to avoid paying the tariff.

Tariffs were the successful way of managing globalization, and it turned the global economy in our favor. We became an indudstrial superpower exporter in 1880, and we became a creditor nation in 1914, because of 100 years of tariffs.

Tariffs also eliminated slavery. Look up the Tariff of 1828. Slave states hated tariffs. Slavery was holding us back, we had to abolish slavery before we became prosperous.

We ended tariffs in 1913 and replaced them with income tax, because exporters should not have tariffs. Once you reach that level of prosperity, you become vulnerable to retaliation from your customer nations. That’s why the Smoot-Hawley tariff backfired in 1930. We were still an exporter, and other nations retaliated.

But that all ended when we lost our trade surplus in 1980, and we became a debtor nation again in 1988.

It was time to go back to tariffs during the 1980’s. But the wealthy Wall Street Journal types were salivating over the idea of opening sweatshops in emerging Asian nations, so they raised the bogeyman of Smoot-Hawley to scare us away from tariffs.

The result has been an economy spiraling out of control. Our trade deficit is now equal to our total exports, which is more than ever in our entire history. We send out a trillion dollars a year on our trade deficit, which adds a trillion dollars of debt to our current account balance every year. The national personal savings rate was 4% in 1930, and it peaked at 10% in 1980. Today it is negative.

Our economy is now in crisis, unemployment is hovering around 10%, and our government is racking up staggering debts, from wars and stimulus giveaways that will never be paid back by the recipients. That means higher taxes in the future, which will only push us down deeper into the pit.

Free trade is making us a beggar nation.

Tariffs made us a prosperous nation.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what we’re doing wrong.

World Almanac 2009

Revenue Act of 1894, 1913
Sixteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

We must do something to become more competitive in the global economy.

It’s either give up all our worker rights and citizen rights, or tariffs.

Giving up rights would mean losing our workplace safety, environmental protections, consumer protections, and all our human rights.

It’s foolishness to sacrifice all that just to save fifty cents on an item at Walmart.

It’s just not worth it.

Of course, Obama would just treat unfair foreign competition as a criminal matter and leave it to the courts to decide on each foreign company individually….

Cheer Up | Feb 01, 2010

Tariffs would screw us bad. Nobody wants American products as it is. Other countries would do the same to us.
Invisible | Feb 01, 2010

The US became powerful because of capitalism, no other reason at all.

Also, tariffs are only a small fraction of the reason jobs are being sent overseas. The biggest problem is minimum wage laws.

If we want to bring back jobs, the government first has to cut spending in 4 main areas- Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the military. We also need to end the Fed. After that, we can lower taxes to a reasonable level (no more than 5%). Then we could eliminate the minimum wage, and return to a capitalist economy that is not so heavily burdened by such massive wasteful government.

After that, return to the gold standard and stop allowing the US government to tax AT ALL. The only way government should be funded is through government bonds.
Cold Hard Fact | Feb 01, 2010

Protectionism is bad. Free trade is better. It’s not perfect, but definitely better.

With the more globally connected economy of today, protectionism won’t work. At best, we’ll isolate ourselves from global trade. American business can’t control the full cycle of manufacturing domestically, it’s too expensive to be competitive.

I’m totally against price fixing, it is artificial. Identify the real problems and fix them, don’t fix prices. Minimum wage and tarrifs are price fixing.

Force unions to accept fair wages other Americans work for
jim020347 | Feb 01, 2010

I with you but the problem with history it totally ignores the new global economy that never existed before anywhere. Tariffs are simplistic and antagonistic. We have to be smarter than ever before and find solutions that are mutually beneficial globally.

Also, we no longer have unlimited resources of land, materials and labor so we have to advance in technologies across the board to remain the primary player in the world.
Rico | Feb 01, 2010

Unions are the problem. All they did was drive up the wages too high to compete, they work for the employers anyway. That is why so many companies go overseas to get things made much cheaper!!
marcus | Feb 01, 2010

The problem with jobs is tied to the value of the dollar – which has been in a downward spiral due to the rising price of oil. the government has set financial policy to offset the outflow of dollars to OPEC nations, so the Euro and other currencies benefit. Europe and Canada pay about as much per liter of gas as we pay per gallon. Until we are willing to accept the going rate, the dollar will continue to slide and jobs will continue to go offshore.

Are Sagittarius people the least cruel of the bunch?
I date Sagittarius people a lot. And I always get suspicious about their true intentions and always feel like people have secret motives, but Sagittarius people profess that they don’t and they don’t seem capable of being extremely scheming individuals. Do I project myself on them and others and that is why I am so suspicious? I am a Scorpio.

Scorpio’s are suspicious of EVERYTHING. And I don’t think Sagittarius are intentionally cruel. They just have a big case of foot in the mouth syndrome where they blurt out what ever they are thinking. I don’t see there being any real malice in their remarks or mannerisms though. Aquarius also are not naturally cruel; too uncaring to actually plot someone’s demise.

? Grrrr ? | Jan 17, 2010

You can project yourself on them because of your own private sneaky nature cuz they are pretty open people but at the same time their demeanor can confuse you because they are big jokers and tend not to be serious. Also, that foot in the mouth issue they have can have you wondering what their true intentions are.
arianleo89 | Jan 17, 2010

I agree with it might be the opposites of Sagittarius being hugely blunt and saying what they are thinking while the Scorpio is more careful about it. I actually am not a hundred percent sure, but I have a good friend that’s a Scorpio since I was in kindergarten. I do see her as suspicious at times, so I try to just let it all out to make her feel less insecure about things.
I would not say we are the least cruel though. Oh no!
We can be insane at times.

Brady -It’s different but cute. I like how it’s not too out-there but it’s not popular either. When i first saw it i thought it said Brody, but Brady is way cuter. I also like this name because you could always call him Brad if he wanted.

Tristan – I love this name! It sounds very classy, intelligent, and strong. It’s easy to pronounce and not too hard to write if you were considering this for your child. I like the fact that it’s uncommon, and just so you know i don’t like popular names so that’s a plus. It’s a great name.

Nicolas – I like this name but i prefer it spelled Nicholas. It looks better that way. I like this name because it’s original but it’s not overly popular & it has two cute nicknames – Nick & Cole. I think it’s a very nice masculine name.

Emmett – I like this name, it’s different. Again, it’s not too out-there but it’s still uncommon which i love. I hate how people always say "You copied from Twilight, you’re obsessed". If you like the name, then you like the name. If your crazy about the books/movies then that’s another story.

Julien – So cute! I use to love this name, and then totally forgot about it so now it’s bringing back old times. I remember I use to love this name for a girl instead of a boy and I use to spell it Julienne. What was I thinking? Lol. I like it for a boy now, and I like the way you spelled it.

Rose – I think Rose is such a beautiful name but i’d rather use a longer name with Rose/Rosie as a nickname. I like Rosalie, Rosalyn, Rosaline, and Rosalina. I think Rose is such a beautiful, feminine, all-american name. I love it!

Lyla – The way you spelled this name is unique, and i kinda like it. I’ve always seen it spelt Lilah, Leila, Leilah, Lila, ect. I’m not in love with this name but i don’t dislike it. It’s just a cute name, it’s neutral.

Layla – I like this name better than Lyla. I use to be in LOVE with this name, but i guess not so much anymore. It’s still a very pretty name, and it’s different which is good but for some reason i’m not that crazy about it anymore. It’s still cute though!

Lucia – Nope. Not for me. I don’t like Lucia, Lucille, Lucy, ect. I think all of those sound old-fashioned and ugly. I guess they’re not my style.

Mae – Nope. Don’t like this one either, same reason as above. & also my brother-in-law’s grandmother is named this and she gets on my nerves :P

My favorites are Tristan & Rose (or Rosalie) :D

Why do I feel so defiant now towards him?
I had a crush on someone but now, I feel like completely being defiant and doing things I know he wouldn’t want me to do. At first it was just ignoring him..then I cut my hair off (haha I know pretty Britney huh?) then it’s me dying my hair..now,I’m getting tatted up. They are ones I love but the one I did was pretty much rebelling against him. All I did was see a picture of him then I walked out the door and went and got it.

Why am I suddenly wanting to do this? He didn’t do anything (so to speak) to me.
I should add that I was seeing/messing around with him so it doesn’t look one sided haha
He initiated it & I went with it. It’s been going on for a year. Maybe I am trying to push him away without looking like an asshole…idk….

How long had you guys been seeing each other? My guess would be that either he done one of two things…he either didn’t give you enough attention or he gave you too much and "smothered" you so to speak. When you guys first started talking, who initiated the whole" relationship"?. It could be that either you or him was so caught up in the chase trying to get with the other one, and now that it’s happened, that excitement is gone and its not as fun as it once was and you could in essence, be doing things to spite him because of that. Seriously, sit down and think about how things are with you all and how they were and see what changed…did he become a "pushover" all the sudden and wont stand up to you? The more a guy lets a girl run over him the more she will, i’m a girl, trust me I know. Girls want a guy that is man enough to stand up for himself. Also, maybe you just want to get a reaction out of him, escpecially if he’s not good at showing his feelings. Last but not least, maybe you’re just tired of him and without realizing it, you’re trying to push him away to end things without having to hurt him by being the "bad guy" so to speak and calling the whole thing off with him – not to mention, without reason peoples interest and taste can change, and no, that doesn’t make you crazy, Just do what makes YOU happy!!

because you’re crazy?

You’re going to regret it when you’ve successfully scared him away.
